Sighthound Strolls is an initiative set up to enable owners of pet sighthounds in Ireland to meet up for regular walks and raise awareness of their breeds. We aim to raise awareness of the plight of particular breeds of sighthound in Ireland and to promote them all as the wonderful companions and pets they are. The 'Sighthound' group includes greyhounds, whippets, salukis, and Irish wolfhounds etc., as well as their breed mixes. We hope that by giving people the chance to meet the dogs and chat to sighthound owners that we are able to dispel some of the common myths that lead so many people to believe that they don't make suitable pets. We hold monthly walks as well as bi-monthly ‘playdates’ where the dogs get to play off lead in a secure area at Positive Dog Training in Sandyford.
