Bow Wow Wow We’re just about recovered from what can only be described as an insanely busy week end at Pet Expo. This was the 9th year that the show gave pet owners and potential pet owners their fix on all things pet related. Obviously being involved with the Dog Breed Village I am biased in saying that it ranks up there with some of the other major attractions, and based on the feedback, post Expo on my personal facebook page where I posted pictures of the Breed Village, it delivered exactly what we set out to do every year. The message that all the breed village representatives get across to the huge numbers that visited over the 2 days, is one of responsible dog ownership. Often when people hear the term breeder, they shudder. It implies something “bad” and suggests that pedigree dog breeders are creating health difficulties in dogs down the line. Dog Breed Village Pet Expo 2013

As George Doors was always asked, "What's the scores George Doors ?" Well the scores are finally in for this years Dog Breed Village which has now become an integral part of Pet Expo which is being held in the RDS on the 16th & 17th of November. Visitors to the show will be able to see up close & personal the following dog breeds & talk to some of the most respected owner / breeders of their breed in Ireland. Saluki's Name of Kennel / Prefix / Affix: Ulmarra - I have had this prefix since arriving in Ireland but bred under Beklyn when in Australia What age were you and how did you become involved in the world of Dogs? We have always had dogs as pets then as a youngster my Mother showed a Corgi for a year or so. I first became interested in showing when I worked for a vet at age 17. The following year I bought my first showdog. As I am not a very 'sporty' person I loved the way I could actually show my own dog and participate in a sport. I have been showing since 1974 but did have about 3 years break in the mid 80's when the two-legged family grew! I did not judge in Australia but was involved in Breed and local clubs as secretary and newsletter editor. I have started judging in Ireland as I have noticed many people who have not been in dogs many years doing so and thought that it is not right to complain if i am not willing to join them!
