I’m sure a few readers of our Blog will be aware of the above campaign currently being run by one of the general classifieds websites in Ireland
This is after 5 years of total non interest on what was / is allowed to be advertised on the same site.
There has been plenty of heated debate by genuine dog lovers in Ireland, on the social networks regarding this companies attitude or lack of, to the pet and more particular dog section of their site.
They as we all know leave it up to Joe Public to police this very lucrative side of their business for them.
After 5 years of constant criticism they have finally started to do something about it.
They have another site, and are marketing it under the above name. Currently they have a video running on the dog section featuring a well known TV vet.
However, ad’s like the litter of Golden Retriever pups in Kildare currently being kept in horrendous conditions still make it on, as it has ticked all the correct boxes – Somehow I don’t think that ad’s like this do much good regarding their slogan – Promoting Responsible Dog Ownership
If they really want to do something about it, why not “Vet” every ad on the dog section, and only post it if they think it really and truly is Promoting Responsible Dog Ownership. This run along side their current campaign would show that they are committed to improving the welfare of dogs in Ireland instead of just paying lip service to it
