Kilkenny All Breed Dog Show

Kilkenny All Breed Dog Show was held in the Hub Centre just outside the town of Kilkenny to-day.
Although all outdoor, the rings were laid out on tarmac. They were spacious with ample room between them for people to set up their chairs, tables etc.
Just as judging was about to begin, there was a light shower of rain, but the black cloud cleared quickly and lovely summer weather followed, but still a nice wind was around to keep man and dog nicely refreshed.
The Hub is an excellent centre, with both outdoor and indoor facilities with an good restaurant and bar. To-day at the Hub too there was a market with a host of stalls selling everything from tools to toys, cosmetics etc.

It was a nice diversion for dog show folk and some good bargains were to be had. Also the market attracted some local Kilkenny folk to visit the dog show too, so all  in all the day was a relaxed affair, enjoyed by all.
Best in Show was judged in the large indoor ring, beautifully laid out surrounded by flowers. To-day’s BIS was Mr Noel Beggs very well known for his Everready Rottweilers. The Everready Kennels has also been the home of many Champion Standard Poodles and now a delightful multi-winning french Bulldog.
Ten top class dogs entered the main ring for the BIS judging. All these dogs had topped their respective groups. After careful examination Mr Beggs awarded the big rosette for BIS to the Beagle who had already won Group 6, Heathergrove Persian Warrior, proudly bred and owned by Eamon Murray .
Second place was awarded to the group 10 winner, the Multi Champion  Whippet Ch Collooney He’s The One, owned and exhibited by Linda Cutbert and co-owned by Linda’s husband Colin Matthews.
Called into 3rd place and representing Group 5 was the now very famular face of Sean Carroll’s and James Newman’s, beautiful top winning Pomeranian, Belliver Unexpected Connection. And 4th place the Irish Water Spaniel Caulfield & Furlong’s Sh Ch Fynder On Shifting Ground who had won Group 8.
Many congratulations to all the proud owners/handlers and connections of all to-day top winners, special congrats to Eamon Murray.
Well done too must go to the committee of Kilkenny Show for putting together such a great show  to-day. The show had  a nice mixture of overseas and Irish judges, a lot of thought and work goes into organising a show like this, so take a big bow Josie and Anita  and the Foley/Duggan family. You all did a super job.
Deise All Breed Championship tomorrow in Tramore Racecourse, so good luck to everyone there. Weather looks good so don’t forget the sun-cream !!!
