Bangor & North Down Canine Club

Bangor and North Down Canine Club All Breed Championship Show Saturday August 7th 2010.

Bangor and North Down Canine Club Show at Balmoral, Belfast was one of this year shows blessed with near perfect weather, although yesterday morning started a bit cloudy it brightened up with some extenstive sunshine and was warm enough with no wind for man and beast to be comfortable.

Again Bangor was one of the shows using indoor and outdoor rings, so a lot of running around for exhibitors having more then one breed. Indeed this year more breeds than other years were in doors , talking amongst exhibitors and many agreed they would prefer to show their dogs outside. Most dogs prefer grass under foot and so seem to show theselves off better. And easy and convenient too too with the sunshine outside and so any people already established outside in their tents.

The Best In Show ring this year was indoors, where the groups were judged.
At about 4.30 the Group winners were called into the big ring for BIS, the judge was Mrs Joan Williamson very long standing exhibitor of Schnauzers, and highly respected judge.

10 excellent representatives of their Groups were called into the large green carpeted ring, nicely decorated with flowers and ringside seating for the judges.. All dog were carefully examined and asked to move around the ring, , but it was pretty obvious that the whippet had really caught Mrs Williamson eye when she walked toward the Group 10 winner, Ir/UK/Int Ch Collooney He’s The One CJ06CW’07 AnCh’06/07/08/09, owned by Mrs L Cuthbert-Matthews and Mr C Matthews from Co Wicklow that he today was the choice for BIS. Handled by a very happy looking Linda Cuthbert-Matthews.

In reserve place Mrs Williamson called the Group 3 winner the Bull Terrier, Charishalee Amazing Grace, owned by Mr and Mrs G Cox from Co Limerick.

In 3rd place was the Group 4 winner the UK owned Smooth-haired kaninchen ,D’Arrisca Gloria Gaynor, owned by Mrs. L Coxon, but resident and handled in Ireland by Ms K Weir. And in 4th place was the locally owned Group 2 winning Miniature Schnauzer (Pepper & Salt), Kensbridge Krowd Pleaser, owned by the Neill Family and handled as usual by daughter Cathy.

Earlier in the day Mrs Williamson had awarded the large Puppy Stakes to the Australian Silky Terrier, Revloch Forum Favorite, owned by Mr P, Mrs J & Miss K Lawless and handled by Kelly Lawless.
Mrs Williamson also judged the Champion Stakes and from some very hot competition she choose the Pomeranianan, Ch Belliver The Ultimate Creation, owned by Sean Carroll and James Newman and handled by a very proud Sean Carroll.

Congratulations to all the proud and happy winners at Bangor show, and to the committee for once again a good show.
